Recently DREAMS online magazine organized Bhavisyavani, an international poetry competition with the slogan, “Let’s write tomorrow’s poems today!“.
With a total of 200 submissions by young writers from all over Nepal the final 20 were shortlisted and performed at Shilpee Theater in Battisputali on 19 September. Some of the judges also performed their own poems.
I was one of the volunteers taking photos at the event although I left a bit earlier. Due to the lack of light I was forced to shoot at ISO 1600 at f/1.8 with my 50 mm, hence the grainy photos. Having said that, the photos do look decent enough for posting online. Color correction was also a nightmare, especially with the harsh blue light right over the main stage and I think someone more experienced could have processed them better.
I also found out today that WP now allows for slideshow galleries, and I’ve put the contestants’ photos in a slideshow.
Please read more about the event at DREAMS Bhavisyavani.
