Wow, this is totally beautiful and charming. I love still life photography and Danbo is a heart stealer. 🙂
I stumbled across your blog through a comment on my own (purelysubjective.wordpress.com, if you’re curious), the common thread being Kathmandu. I’m coming through town at the end of the month for Shamar Rinpoche’s cremation. I’m curious…well, about a couple things. There’s no about you on your site, but you say you grew up in Kathmandu, and at the same time you seem to speak English like a native. What’s your background, if you don’t mind sharing? Also, as a local, how is this event viewed in the city? Is it actually news or just another thing that’s happening or not even that?
Hi Jourdie and thank you for the kind words. Regarding Shamar Rinpoche’s cremation, this is the first time I am hearing about it, not that I had heard of the Rinpoche himself. Having said that, I am not a super religious Buddhist and I am not active in these communities.
As for my background… well since you pointed it out, I have just added an “About” page where I’ve mentioned a few details about myself 🙂
I hope that you have a nice time in Nepal despite the occasion. It’s a beautiful country and it would be a good idea to travel all around Nepal.
Thanks for the reply Tenzing! It’s interesting to hear that Shamarpa’s cremation is pretty limited to the direct Buddhist community. It’s a small world in some ways, I guess.
Nice about about page, and nice to find out more about the person behind all the beautiful images. Looking forward to seeing more of your work in the future. 🙂
